Mexican Culture

Mexican culture is varied. Many of the pre-Hispanic family of Mexican culture the most important things would be respected family unity, hard work, and solidarity among its family. Other aspects of their culture are the food and the music. The food will be the tequila, tacos, tamales, posole, enchiladas, gordita's and chilesrellenos. Their music is varied depending on each state. For example, in Monterrey they listen to northern music and Durango they listen to the band. Depending on the state of their music and the food is varied. Among their culture, there are many national holidays but two of them are very important they are the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe that the day that is celebrated on December twelve and the other is el dia de los muertos the day that is celebrated on November two.
The day of the Virgin of Guadalupe is celebrated differently that el dia de los muertos, the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe celebrates by visiting all the basilicas from all the states they bring floral gifts and matachines to the virgin, and el dia de los muertos they celebrate by visiting their loved ones in their graves bringing them flowers and mariachis or some object to their deceased that wanted more in life. In schools also they put altars to the dead. The altars are shaped by skull-shaped candies and pan de muerto. Another no less important is the Holy week. Where Jesus Christ's crucifixion is commemorated and praise by seven meals. The meals are fish, nopales, rice with chickpea, lentils, broad bean, capirotada, and chard. One more tradition is the three king day is celebrated on January six. It is celebrated by eating bread in the form of a thread which carries three mini dolls representing the child Jesus. Then distributes bread among the guests and the person who has mini dolls has to make tamales in February second in the Candlemas day.
Mexican are very passion of soccer when is a big game like the world cup or just a simple game they get all excited. When is the World Cup they can go see it anywhere for example to a restaurant, in a friend house or they can put a big screen at a park. Just to get the chance to see for team play. In conclusion is that Mexican culture has interesting traditions. They have more traditions that are very interesting to know more about.

Addressing Mike Rowe and "The High Cost of College"

I thought the video was great and some parts funny too. It actually makes me think about college if I’m going right. I really think that I am doing the right thing to study and work were I be enjoying. I also don’t ask for student loans because they charge interests and then I would not have money to pay them back. What did stood out to me was that the average of the woman that are working are increasing and the male is decreasing. I personally think that his points are valid. We have too many student loans that we can’t pay. I also think the same as Rowe about they are many jobs that they don’t need a college degree. They still pay good you just have to have your high school degree. For example; Marking managers, tax preparers, construction, Elevator installers, etc. Another thing that he said that have my attention was that the cost of a degree as increased I think 500 times it increased by the years. I personally think that he would be right about technology. This video did cause me to pause and reconsider why I am currently doing at blinn because you don’t need a college degree to have a good work. I’m in blinn because I don’t want a job that I don’t like but they have good money and I want a job that I enjoy doing and pay most likely more.

Social Media and Electronic Devices

Social media and electronic devices have positive and negative effects. The positive effects of social media and electronic devices are that we get faster information just by touching your smartphone, by seeing it on TV, listing to the radio or etc. We know use electronic devices for pretty much everything for example; in school, taking pictures, the office, and etc. In some point in the day, we going to use an electronic device. The negative effects of social media and electronic devices are that we spend a lot of time in social media or an electronic device. The consequences that we spend a lot of time on social media or an electronic device are that we sleep late, don’t interact with people. In the article, it said that “We are diminishing the scope of interaction even as we multiply the number of people with whom we interact. We remove or drastically filter all the information we might get by being with another person. We reduce them to some outlines - a Facebook ‘Friend,’ an Instagram photo, a text message- in a controlled and sequestered world that exists largely free of the sudden eruptions or encumbrances of actual human interaction. We become each other’s contacts, efficient shadows of ourselves.” This is the major effect.  We have social media that many of us we have to check, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and much more. Just to know what is happening outside we don’t want to mess anything. Especially the teenagers are more addicted to looking at social media. In my personal usage of electronic devices is that I don’t use it that much. I only use electronic devices when I’m bored. I’m mostly busy all the time put when I have time I do watch TV, Computer, or in my phone mostly on my phone. I pretty much use more times my phone that any other electronic devices. I check my social media on my phone mostly every time because I fell more confident seeing on my phone. The social media that I use and I have in my phone are Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, Pinterest, and etc. In my opinion, I’m more positive than negative, because I don’t use a lot my phone or other electronic devices because I get bored really easily. I just use an electronic device when I did them for school or anything important. Those are the positive and negative effects of social media and electronic devices.
